Transpersonal [Hypno]Therapy

Transpersonal therapy is an holistic approach to mental health that addresses the mental, physical, social, emotional, creative, and intellectual needs of an individual. It integrates spiritual traditions and rituals into modern psychology and emphasizes positive influences and role models. The therapy evolved from the humanistic work of Carl Jung and was formalized by Abraham Maslow and associates in the 1960s. Originally, it focused on altered states of consciousness, achieved through psychedelics, but practitioners have since moved on to other means, such as meditation and holotropic breathwork. With the resurgence of interest in psychedelic compounds today, some versions of transpersonal therapy may return to psychedelic-assisted therapy methods.

Reiki Treatment

Reiki is a complementary therapy for energy healing, originating from Japan. It involves improving the flow of life energy, or “ki,” around the body to relieve pain, promote relaxation, and speed up healing. Practitioners believe that energy blocks caused by physical or emotional pain can lead to illness, and aim to remove these blocks. Reiki is similar to acupuncture or acupressure in its approach to energy medicine.

Life Skills Counselling

Life skills counselling is a form of therapy that helps individuals acquire the skills necessary to cope with the challenges and stressors of daily life. The goal of life skills counselling is to enhance an individual’s overall functioning by teaching them practical skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, communication, time management, stress management, and goal setting. Life skills counselling can help individuals of all ages and backgrounds who struggle with a variety of issues such as addiction, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, or low self-esteem. It is often used in combination with other forms of therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, to provide a comprehensive approach to mental health treatment. Life skills counselling can help individuals develop the confidence and self-awareness needed to make positive changes in their lives and achieve their personal goals.

Critical Trauma Counselling

Clinical trauma counselling is a specialized form of therapy designed to help individuals who have experienced traumatic events. Trauma can result from a wide range of experiences, such as abuse, violence, accidents, natural disasters, or medical conditions. The goal of clinical trauma counselling is to help individuals heal from the emotional and psychological effects of trauma and develop coping strategies to manage symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and flashbacks. As a Trauma Counsellor, I use a variety of evidence-based techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, exposure therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions, to help my clients process their experiences and reduce symptoms. Trauma counselling can also involve working with my clients to build resilience, enhance self-esteem, and improve their relationships. 

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT aims to help individuals identify and challenge negative or distorted thinking patterns that contribute to emotional distress or behavioral problems. CBT therapists work collaboratively with clients to set goals, develop personalized treatment plans, and teach specific skills to change negative thinking patterns and behaviors. CBT is commonly used to treat a range of mental health issues such as anxiety disorders, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). CBT typically involves short-term, structured sessions, and is often used in combination with other treatments such as medication. The effectiveness of CBT has been supported by numerous research studies, and it is considered a first-line treatment for many mental health conditions.

I am Frank A. Benedek, registered Therapist in Boksburg.

My predominant motivation is to strike a good balance between stability and flexibility. I like to use abstract, innovative, and / or creative sets of preferences, to extend or expand what already exists.

Curious and aware about the nature and utility of things.

I tend to be naturally empathetic, sympathetic, generous, and helpful to current hurts, needs, problems, and wishes of others, particularly those who are in direct contact.

Open-minded, curious, creative, and innovative.

I believe that logic is used to figure things out. I place an emphasis on communication:
- picking up information from the minds of others, or
- communicating to the minds of others.

I consider people both philosophically, and psychologically thus giving motivation towards an interest in people on a personal, ethical, potential and destiny of others level.
I am empathetically and sympathetically aware of the hurts, needs, problems, and wishes of others and am motivated to help whenever possible. There is an inclination and willingness to get personally involved in the personal lives of others to help with one's talents and resources.

What is Transpersonal [Hypno] Therapy?

 

The word “Transpersonal” is derived from the two Latin words “trans” meaning “to go beyond” and “persona” relating to one as a person.
Hypnotherapy, also called trance state therapy, is a technique that utilises hypnosis or guided imagery to alter individuals' state of awareness through techniques that encourage relaxation, thus allowing focus and concentration on the healing process, through suggestibility.

Transpersonal Hypnotherapy ultimately focuses on the spiritual potential making the individual realise who they are. The therapist facilitates the individuals' inner journey and assists them to connect with their inner wisdom or intuition.
Hypnosis, contrary to belief, cannot make an individual do things that are against their morals or values.
